Maya Solomon, raised in Plano, TX, graduated Magna Cum Laude with her BA in Dance from Texas Woman’s University in 2021. She grew up doing competitive artistic gymnastics in Plano for fourteen years, and has trained in a variety of dance styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, improvisation, and choreography. Before attending TWU, Maya received her Associate of Arts degree from Collin College, where she performed and choreographed, which was seen in the Student Choreography Showcase in 2019. She taught gymnastics from preschool to upper competitive levels in Dallas, TX, for two years. After moving to Denton, she was introduced to Pilates at Twisted Bodies Pilates and Yoga Studio and completed her mat and equipment trainings all in 2021. Over there, she enjoyed being an aerialist and doing lyra hoop, and understands the importance of proper alignment and safety for different forms of movement, including dance, acro, and gymnastics. Maya is currently working towards becoming a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher. We are so excited to have Miss Maya teach Acro and Conditioning at DDC this year!
