Acro & Conditioning
Conditioning/Warm-up class for DDC’s Resident Dance company members, Denton City Contemporary Ballet & DDC’s Competitive Company. This class is also open to all dancers who want to increase their strength, flexibility, and endurance through studied and highly recommended exercise routines. The PERFECT cross-training activity for any dancer!
Acrobatic Dance, or acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Often defined by unique choreography, acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context.
In this class you will build strength and flexibility and learn acrobatic elements such as Cartwheels, One handed Cartwheels, Dive cartwheels, Bridges, Limbers, any type of Forward or Backward roll, Back & Front Limbers (coming up on two feet from a bridge or going into a back bend bridge from two feet), Chin Stands, Chest Stands, and Hand Stands Front & Back Walkovers.
