Benefits of Dancing on a Competitive Team

Joining a competition team can be beneficial for young dancers in several ways. First, it provides them with opportunities to perform in front of audiences, which helps build their confidence and stage presence. Second, being part of a team encourages dancers to work together and support each other, fostering a sense of community and friendship. Third, competing against other teams can motivate dancers to improve their skills and technique, leading to faster progress and growth. Additionally, competition teams often receive specialized training from experienced coaches, which can help young dancers refine their craft and develop their artistry.

In the fall of 2021, Ms. Nicole Jordan founded our Competitive Company in order to give our dancers exactly these opportunities. Since then, our dancers have flourished at every level, and we are excited and committed to serving our DDC dance families in this way!

Dancers, ages 10-11, make up our JUNIOR COMPANY.  These dancers take two hours of Ballet, one hour of Jazz, one hour of Contemporary, and one hour of Conditioning per week. (Hip Hop & Tap are optional.) They will also compete one Contemporary group, and be included in the Production piece along with the entire competitive company!
